Are you offering in-person sessions in 2024?

No, my counselling services will be offered virtually (phone or video) for the 2024 calendar year.

What is your fee? How do payments work? Do you offer a sliding scale?

The session fee is $145.00 for a 60 minute session.

Fertility Clients (GENERATION FERTILITY):

Prerequisite counselling sessions are $175.00 per 60 minute session.

This fee includes our 60 minute counselling session and a formal counselling summary that will be sent to your fertility doctor. Follow-up sessions are $145.00 per hour.

Payments are made at the time of each session by e-Transfer or PayPal.

Yes, I do offer a sliding scale. Please contact me to work out a fee that is affordable for your family.

Will our sessions be covered by insurance?

Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover the cost of a counsellor in private practice.  However, some private health insurance companies offer coverage. I would encourage you to contact your insurance provider to find out what mental health coverage they provide.  I will provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

My Provincial Registration #: 001172 College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)

Registered Marriage and Family Therapist#: 101377 (AAMFT, OAMFT)

Registered Marriage and Family Therapist#: 2017208 (CAMFT)

Are you a Psychologist or Social Worker?

No, I am not a Psychologist or Social Worker, and my services are not covered under "psychologist" or "social worker" through insurance providers. I do not offer diagnoses or psychological assessments.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist and am covered under some insurance benefits as such.

Could you recommend a Psychologist or Social Worker who specializes in pregnancy loss and fertility issues?

How many sessions will I need?

The average length of service is between 1 and 3 sessions.  Depending on your goals and the nature of the presenting issues some clients will choose to book more sessions.  Some clients prefer to visit for a few sessions initially and then call for a "check-in" session several weeks or months later.  You will decide what will be most useful for you.  There is no pressure to rebook at the end of each session.  I can easily be reached to schedule a subsequent meeting or you can book your next meeting online too.

I strive to make each session count.  For many clients a single session consultation is enough to feel some relief from distress and to feel more confident about your ability to cope in the weeks and months ahead.

What will we talk about?

We can talk about any aspect of your loss, health, and relationships.  Each pregnancy has a story; that's where we start.  Next, we focus on the issues that are most important for you.  Here are some examples from previous clients:

Grief: process, timeline myths, lost due dates

Mental Health: depression, anxiety, and PTSD following loss

Relationship Stress: different greiving styles, strain with family and friends

Returning to Real Life: getting back to work, surviving holidays, a friend's baby shower

Resilience: how to feel like yourself again, trying to conceive again, fertility

The Unfiltered Details: pain, spotting, ultrasounds, hospital gowns, crying at the grocery store

You were my therapist following my miscarriage. Can I come back to talk about a new issue?

Yes, I am pleased to work with returning clients on new counselling issues. Please feel free to use Online Booking or send me an email for appointment times.  Welcome back!!
